Kenneth Chastain Southard

Reidsville – Kenneth Chastain Southard, 86, of 2303 Richardson Drive, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 at Wesley Long Hospital. Entombment will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Reidlawn Cemetery Mausoleum with Rev. Michelle Chappell officiating. Mr. Southard was born in Rockingham County to the late William and Pearl Southard. Kenneth retired with 40 years of service from the American Tobacco Company. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of First United Methodist Church. Kenneth enjoyed helping his fellow neighbors and friends with all kinds of handy work. Above all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Zephyr Southard; brother, Hayward Southard and sister, Helen Dula.He is survived by his daughters, Linda Vestal and husband, Norman of Gibsonville and Patricia Griffin and husband John of Mebane; grandchildren, Laurie and Dawn; great-grandchildren, Emma, Jenna and Mackenzie..
