Kenneth Earl Swink, Sr. 94, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at UNC Rockingham Hospital.
Mr. Swink was born in Spindale, NC to the late Emery Julius Swink and Myrtle Edith Weatherman Swink. He was a WWII veteran and retired from the U S Air Force after traveling to many states during his service. He lived in South Carolina until 1999 when he moved to Reidsville. He attended Baptist Temple for many years where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He lived a life serving others, helping wherever there was a need and never expecting anything in return. He loved his family more than anything and was very involved. He enjoyed playing golf and watching it on TV as well. He loved to travel and always had a list of places he’d still like to visit. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Swink and brothers, E.J. Swink and William Swink.
Survivors are his daughters, Gloria Barham and husband, Nelson, Mildred Edith Lilly; son, Kenneth “Bud” Swink, Jr. and wife, Irene; grandchildren, Donna Kay Johnson and husband, David, David Sandel and wife, Sandy, Christy Sims, and husband, Scott, Daniel Swink and wife, Sronors; great grandchildren, Ashlyn Sandel, Abigail Sandel, Tommy Johnson and wife, Krystal, Tyler Johnson, Chelsea Gaetke, Matthew Amodio, Kyndall Sims, Alyssia Sims, Kenny Swink, Payton Swink; great great grandchildren, Micah Johnson and Reagan Johnson; sister, Edna Kidwell.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
