Larnie Abraham (L.A.) Puckett

Reidsville: Larnie Abraham (L.A) Puckett, Jr., 90, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at Annie Penn Nursing Center. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Covington Wesleyan Church with Rev. Eddie McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military rites by the Rockingham County Honor Guard. L.A. was born on January 6, 1925, in Rockingham County to the late L.A. Puckett, Sr. and Delia Pruitt Puckett. He was retired from American Tobacco Company and Rockingham County School System. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Donald and Alfred Puckett, and his sisters, Elizabeth Lawson, Sallie Rakestraw and Elaine Sharp. He is survived by his wife, Margie Dove Puckett of the home, son, Timothy Puckett and wife, June of Reidsville; daughter, Donna Puckett Washburn and husband, Joyner of Greenville, NC; grandson, Dennis Puckett and wife, Kristen, McLeansville, NC; great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Dylan Puckett; brother, Lloyd Puckett, Williamston, VA; sisters, Virginia Richardson, Ruth McCollum, and Polly Blankenbaker all of Reidsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 PM at Covington Wesleyan Church and other times at the home.
