Summerfield – Larry Arthur Cobb, Jr., 30, of 344 Bobcat Road, in the Bethany community, went home to be with God
on Sunday morning, July 27th due to a traffic accident.
Funeral services will be at 3:00
PM, Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Maple
Lawn Baptist
Church with Rev. Crawford
Bradshaw officiating. Interment will
follow in the church cemetery.
Larry was born in March 28, 1978
in Rockingham County to Larry Arthur Cobb and Terresa
Bibee Cobb. He attended Rockingham County High School
and Rockingham Community College, where he received a
certificate in Small Business Adminstration. He attended Maple Lawn Baptist
church and was a skilled mechanic by trade and was currently employed by
Industrial Battery. He was a loving and
devoted father and friend. His strong
commitment to spending quality time with his son, Gabe leaves many precious
memories, including many hours riding four-wheelers together with family and
friends. He competed in mud bog races
and enjoyed sharing his love and expertise of deer hunting and fishing with
Gabe, Hunter and Ryan. Larry also
assisted in coaching Gabe’s first T-ball team this year at the Pearman Ball Park. He was preceded in death by his grandfather,
Benny Lovelace; uncles, Ray Bibee and Dave Lovelace.
He is survived by his wife,
Catherine Marshall Cobb; son, Gabriel Austin Cobb, his Daddy’s Little Man; parents, Larry and Terresa Cobb; sister,
Misty Travis and husband, Mike; grandmother, Beulah Lovelace, all of
Summerfield; aunt, Cherrie Madren and husband, Joel of Reidsville; uncles,
David Cobb and wife, Betty and Johnny Cobb of Reidsville; niece and nephew,
Amber and Hunter Travis; special cousins, Alisha, Stephanie and Ryan Madren,
B.J. Barker, Ray Bibee, Jeannie Bibee, Andrew and Alex Lovelace and host of loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends at
Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 29th from 7:00 – 9:00
PM. Other times the family will be at
the home of Larry and Terresa Cobb, 290
Bobcat Road, Summerfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
