Larry Wayne Shelton

Reidsville–Larry Wayne Shelton, 59, of Reidsville, died on Saturday, December 7, 2013. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Vass officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Mr. Shelton was born on May 23, 1954, in Reidsville to the late Lewis D. Shelton and Edna Minyard Shelton. He was a member of Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a truck driver with Estes Trucking. He was a member of the All-American Road Team and came in third place at Truck Rodeo. He gave speeches at colleges on Safety Driving. He drove 3.7 million miles without an accident. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph D. Shelton and a grandson, Matthew E.J. Paschal. Survivors include his daughters, Sandie Smith & husband, Rodney of Madison, Kristie Chilton of Reidsville and Stephanie Sands & husband Luke of Eden; nine grandchildren, Nathan Paschal, Gary Chilton, Jr., Derek Paschal, Amanda Chilton, Lorrie Chilton, Dylan Orr, Jacob Sands and Jackson Sands; one great granddaughter, Jayla “Bug” Carter; his brothers, Lewis Randal Shelton of Reidsville and Jeff Shelton & wife Susan of Ridgeway, VA, his sister, Teresa Lyons of Reidsville and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, from 7-9 PM and other times at 1942 Sardis Church Road, Madison, NC 27025.
