Larry Conway Strader

Larry Conway Strader, 65, of Ruffin, passed away Sunday, August 20th, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Hall and Rev. Charles Churchill officiating. Burial will follow in Dan View Cemetery in Eden. Larry was born in Stuart, VA on September 16, 1951. He worked at Fieldcrest Mills and at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital as an electrician. He loved fishing and talking about the Lord and attending church at Sheldon Baptist Church . Larry was preceded in death by his father, Fred Melvin Strader and aunt, Zelma Bullins; uncle, Rev. J.R. Rakes. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Wood Strader; son, Glenn Strader and wife, Krista; mother, Thelma Rakes Strader; brother-in-law, Ricky Wood and wife, Cathy. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 22nd from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home of Glenn Strader, 125 Wood Road, Eden.
