Larry Wayne Vernon

Larry Wayne Vernon, 71, went home to be with the Lord on January 27, 2020 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Pleasantville Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Warner officiating. Larry was born to the late Jessie Burton Vernon and Lucille Hopkins Vernon in Rockingham County. He retired from Greensboro Country Club after 10 years of service and most recently worked part time at Monroeton Golf Course here in Reidsville. He loved golfing and the outdoors, building and flying RC airplanes. He was a mechanic by trade and worked on everything from big transfer trucks to little lawn mowers. Most of all he loved his children. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son, Phillip Wayne Vernon and wife, Melissa; grandson, Daniel Vernon and wife Sadie; granddaughter, Jahavier Vernon and fiancé, Ryan Walker; uncle, Clarence Hopkins as well as the love of his life and friend, Janice Coleman and a loving extended family.
