Larry Bruce Williams

Larry Bruce Williams was born on October 15, 1952 in Gloversville, New York. He came to the Washington, D.C. area in the 1970’s to work at various jobs. In the mid-1970’s, Larry served two years in the U.S. Army. After leaving the Army, he worked many jobs in the construction industry, most notably with Miller and Long. In 1992, he joined Local 201 Ironworkers (Washington, D.C.) until 2002 when health problems forced him to resign. Over the years, Larry did contract work for fencing companies. From 2002 until 2007, Larry worked as a caretaker for Evergreen Memory Gardens, Inc. His favorite pastime was fishing. He loved to fish in both fresh and salt water. He also enjoyed surf cast fishing and party boat fishing. He was most happy when he was fishing. The party boat vendors all knew Larry and welcomed him when he showed up at sunrise to fish for the day. Larry died on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 at his home from cardiac arrest. He leaves his beloved wife, Dawn P. Williams, of Reidville, NC and stepson, Daniel Minter (wife Jennifer) and six adoring grandchildren who reside in Atlantic, GA. Larry will be missed for his large spirit and big heart. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Holy Infant Catholic Church with Father Tim Daly officiating.
