Reidsville -Larry Haywood Williams, 64, of 121 Bear Branch Trail, died on Thursday, December 3, 2009, at his home. A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Reidlawn Cemetery Mr. Williams was born in Rockingham County to the late J. T. and Edith Tickle Williams. He was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church. He loved gospel music and played with the Tarnished Cross group until his health prevented him from playing. Haywood played the steele guitar and the dobrough. He was an avid hunter and also loved to go fishing. He was retired from Duke Power Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Williams and sister, Susie Engles. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carolyn Keatts Williams of the home; daughters, Deborah Williams of Marietta, Ga., Angela Williams Stratton of Reidsville, Julie Williams Bullock of Reidsville; son, Michael Mansfield of Reidsville; grandchildren , Nichole Bass, Casey Mansfield, Kaitlyn Mansfield and Alex Bailey; brothers, Bennis "Champ" Williams and wife, Vickie, Keith Williams and Mark Williams and wife, Janet all of Reidsville sisters, Donna Johnson of Reidsville and Kim Olson and husband, Dave of El Paso, Texas, his ex-wife, Nancy Vincent and numerous nieces and nephews. There will no formal visitation.
