Laura Arlene Williams Griffith

Reidsville: Arlene Williams Griffith, 92, of 543 Harrison Crossroad Loop, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Penn Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen Blair officiating. The burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Also, the family will be receiving friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church and other times at her home. Mrs. Griffith was born in Rockingham County to the late, William and Cora Shular Williams. She was retired from the Creighton Shirt Factory with over 20 years of service. She was a lifelong and faithful member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Her love for the outdoors fueled her passion for animals and her pets. She was also an accomplished seamstress and quilter. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Caris William Griffith; her son, Kenneth William Griffith; her brothers, Jesse Williams and Ralph Williams; her sisters, Mary Lettie King, Lucy Stone and Lillie Harvey. She is survived by her daughters, Ginger Griffith Rakestraw and husband, Lee of Reidsville and Janet Griffith of Burlington; grandchildren, Chris Griffith, Scott Griffith and wife, Missy, Kathy McSwain and husband, Steve, Dwayne Rakestraw and wife, Paula, Bradley Rakestraw and wife, Jennifer and Brett Rakestraw and wife, Heather; great grandchildren, Bodie, Jack, Austin, McKinsey, J.T., Erin, Jasper, Emma and Isabella and numerous nieces and nephews.
