LaVerne "Vern" Pruitt

LaVerne “Vern” Pruitt, 85 of Reidsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 8:15 PM, surrounded by his loving wife of 63 years. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Doug Barber officiating.

Born August 30, 1938, in Virginia to the late Roy Thomas Pruitt and Annie Jones Pruitt, LaVerne was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was employed with Macfield/Unifi for 26 years as manager of Plant #4 in Reidsville, NC. He and his wife were charter members of Westover Baptist Church in Danville, VA. LaVerne was an avid golfer and also enjoyed watching it on TV.

In addition to his parents, LaVerne was also preceded in death by his two sisters and seven brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Strader Pruitt; son, Michael Keith Pruitt (Sherri); granddaughters, Kristen Taylor Pruitt Berry (Matthew) Kaitlyn K, Pruitt Maj (Filip), great-grandson, Judson Everette Berry; step-grand-children, Meredith Lynn Maynor Bogue (Brendon), great-children, Cole Warren Bogue and Caroliine Liv Bogue.
