Lee R. Mears

Reidsville –Mr. Lee Mears, 89, of Reidsville passed away on July 25th, 2013. Mr. Mears was born on July 1st, 1924 in Jasper County, South Carolina to the late John Harry and Mary Rebecca Nettles Mears. He was a United States Navy Veteran and retired from the United States government. He was a member of New Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Donese “Donnie” Coe Mears of the home; two sons, Michael Lee Mears, PhD of Colonial Beach, Virginia; Robert Glenn Mears of Surfside Beach, South Carolina; two daughters, Joslyn O’Meara of Winston-Salem; Beverly Donese Mears Bishop and husband Stephen of Huntington Beach, California; grandchildren, Brigitte Alanna Bishop and Heidi Nicole Bishop and eight siblings. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 29th, 2013 at 11 AM in New Heights Baptist Church. Pastor Harold Venable will officiate. Interment services will follow at 2 PM in Greenhill Cemetery in Greensboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
