Lena Fitch Via

Reidsville- Mrs. Lena Fitch Via, 91, of Reidsville, crossed over to be with the Lord on January 1st, 2015. Mrs. Via was born on March 7th, 1923 in Alamance County to the late Charlie and Mary Apple Fitch. She was retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company after thirty-three years of service. As long as her health permitted, she was an active member of Reidsville Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Via; her brothers, Glenn Fitch and Ralph Fitch and her sister, Ruth Fitch Mabe. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Via Carter and husband, Dennis of Eden; her son, Timothy Via of Conway, SC; grandchildren: Christina Benton and husband, Lee; Marcus Carter and wife, Becky all of Eden; two great-grandchildren: Levi Carter and Cameron Benton and her special friend, Tommie Carter. A cryptside service will be held on Monday, January 5th, 2015 at eleven o’clock at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Pastor Shannon Newsome officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Dennis Carter.
