Lenora Dodson

Reidsville - Lenora Dodson Ray, 80, of 1309 Pennrose Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 27, 2012 at Victory Baptist Church with Dr. K. Scott Heffner officiating. The burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Ray was born in Stokes County and was the daughter of the late Rev. James and Eulala Carter Dodson. She was retired from Rockingham County Schools. She was a longtime and faithful member of Victory Baptist Church. She was a pillar of faith and the Joy of the Lord was her strength. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Harry B. Ray, Jr.; her grandson, Michael H. Ray and her brother, Cary Dodson.She is survived by her son, Heath Ray of Eden; her daughter, Toyce Troxler of the home; her grandchildren, Holly Ray, Caitlin Ray, Brad and Amy Rivers, David and Matthew Troxler; three great grandchildren; her brothers, Wade Dodson and wife, Edith and Jamie Dodson and wife, Shelvia all of Sandy Ridge, NC; sisters, Lois Smith of Reidsville, Artie Watkins and husband, Tom of Madison, Ruth Ware of Eden and Carolyn Bowman of Madison; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Barbara Morrison and Irene McMillan; and those that she considered her own children, Cerita Massey, Kevin Stratton, Fayia Wetherly and Carol Stratton.The family will be receiving friends Thursday, July 26 from 1 - 5:00 PM at her sister's home, 720 Robinhood Road, Reidsville, NC.
