Leon Donald Sartin

Pelham: Leon Donald Sartin, 71, of 205 Whipporwill Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Sartin and Rev. Thurmon Hall officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Sartin was born in Rockingham County to the late Bill and Alma Smith Sartin. He retired from Guilford Mills with over 30 years of service. He was a hardworking, simple man with the love of God in his heart. He was a gifted property developer and could utilize the land for just the right purpose. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Joe and Benny Sartin. Mr. Sartin is survived by his sons, John Wesley Sartin and wife, Teresa of Ruffin, Jeffrey Howard Sartin and Melanie Oxendine of Burlington and Anthony Leon Sartin of Yanceyville; mother of his sons, Margaret Jeffress Cobb and husband, Joe of Pelham; grandchildren, Zachary Sartin, Daniel Sartin and wife, Carrie, Mitch Young, Isaiah Sartin, Laurel Sartin and Elizabeth Sartin; sisters, Betty Cox and husband, Buddy of Reidsville, Tillie Underwood and husband, Paul of Providence and Dottie Stone and Bobby Apple; brothers, Wayne Sartin and wife, Shirley and Ernest Sartin and wife, Pat all of Reidsville; sisters-in-law, Linda and Diane Sartin both of Reidsville and numerous nieces and nephews.
