Brown Summit - Leon Franklin Wagoner, Sr., 89, died on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Ashton Place Health and Rehabilatation in McLeansville.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2010, at 3:00 PM at Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick LeBaube. Burial will follow in the church cemeteryMr. Wagoner was born in Guilford County to the late Roy C. and Nettie Ann Stanfield Wagoner. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church and was a retired tobacco farmer. He also served in the Army/Air Corp. during World War II and enjoyed selling produce at the Reidsville Farmer’s Market for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Adolphus “Doc” Wagoner and sister, Lillian Jones.Survivors include his wife of over 66 years, Mary Frances Wright Wagoner, of the home, sons, Frankie Wagoner and wife, Kay of Brown Summit and Wayne Wagoner and wife, Daphna of McLeansville; grandchildren, Shannon Law, Amanda Thompson, Matthew Wagoner, Jeff Wagoner, Rhonda Holmberg and Keith Wagoner; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Paul Wagoner of Daytona Beach, Florida and Charles Wagoner of Boston, Mass; sisters, Betty Busick of Gibsonville and Shirley Huffines of Brown Summit.The family would like to express their thanks for the support they received from family members, friends and church members.
