Washington Redskins, New York Yankees and Danville Braves fan, along with any
other team that was on a winning streak.
In 1952, he married Betty
Louise Lee Poindexter, who survives. In
addition to his wife, of the residence, he is survived by two daughters, Cheryl
P. Brumfield and husband, Charles of Danville, VA, and Kim P. Julian and

of his life were his three grandchildren, Matthew Tyler Brumfield, Kerri
Elizabeth Brumfield and Ryan Adam Julian. He is also survived by ten wonderful and loving siblings consisting of
seven dear sisters, Adell Poindexter, Alleen P. Lee, Estelle P. Hamlett, Myrtle
P. Bailey, and Delane P. Bailey all of Pelham, NC, Nora P. Alderson of

Poindexter of Reidsville, NC; a very “special” friend and close brother-in-law,
Andrew “Danny” Lee and his wife, Vickie; numerous nieces and nephews who were
all dear to his heart and more cousins than this paper has room to print. He also leaves many dear friends who were so
important to his life from the Chandler
Mill Road and Porter’s Store.
