Lessie Smith Sladky

Reidsville – Lessie Smith Sladky, 96, of 9100 NC Hwy 150, passed away Saturday August 22, 2009 at Avante of Reidsville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 24, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Elder H.P. Somers and Elder Donald Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Wolf Island Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Sladky was born in Rockingham County to the late William Samuel and Minnie O’Bryant Smith. She was a homemaker and of the Primitive Baptist faith. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William James Sladky, Sr., two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her sons, William James Sladky, Jr. and wife, Kathy and Thomas H. Sladky and wife, Evelyn; grandchildren, Eric and Justin Sladky and Dean Sladky and wife, Julie; great grandchildren, Thomas J. Sladky and Jenna; brothers, Pat Smith and wife, Betty and Robert Penn Smith and wife, Francine. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Roy Fagan for his love and care during Mrs. Sladky’s illness. The family will receive friends Sunday evening at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
