Levada Hanks Harrell

Oak Ridge N.C. – Levada Hanks Harrell, 94, of 8613 Haw River Road, died on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday May 19, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Benny Wood officiating.. The interment will follow in Midway UMC cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Moses, Bill Hutchens, Jody Akers, Randy Harrell, Rodney Jarvis and Harold Jarvis. Mrs. Harrell was born in Alleghany County to the late Andrew Huffy and Ennice Hopper Hanks. She was retired from Fieldcrest Mills and was a member of Hunter Hills Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Monroe Harrell, Sr. daughter, Edna Rachel Jarvis; great granddaughter, Ashley Jarvis; brothers, Odell Hanks, Edgar Hanks, Raleigh Hanks, Raymond Hanks, Earl Hanks and Weldon Hanks sisters, Viola Wood, Maude Hinson and Boyd King. She is survived by her son, John Monroe Harrell, Jr., daughters, Barbara H. Ingool and Fonda H. Stevens; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home
