Reidsville – Libby Wilson Richardson, 78, died Thursday evening December 9, 2010 at the Carolina House. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service and other times at the home of her daughter, Lisa Richardson, 201 Dove Road, Reidsville. Interment will follow the service at Reidlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Curry, Keith Smith, Brandon Chilton, Tracy Moore, Justin Evans and Josh Evans. A native of Rockingham County, Mrs. Richardson was born to the late Ed and Rosie Allen Wilson. She worked for Mayberry Ice Cream Shop for 25 years. Libby was of the Baptist faith and loved to sing hymns and shared her beautiful voice in her church choir for many years. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Richardson, grandson, Patrick Curry, her son-in-law, Carter Needham; brothers, Earl, Felt, James and Glen Wilson. Survivors include her son, Ernie Richardson; daughters, Dianne Curry and husband Steve, Cathy Needham, Lisa Richardson and Rhonda Smith; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Ollie Paschal; brother, Hall Wilson and wife, Hazel; sisters-in-law, Peggy Crow and husband, Norman, Ann Watson, Geneva Vernon and Irene Worthy. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Hospice, 2563 Eric Lane, Suite F, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or Alzheimers Association, Carolina Peidmont Chapter, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, N.C. 28215.
