Lillian Apple, 98, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at East Side Baptist Church where she was a charter member for 66 years with Rev. Gene Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Apple -Nunn Cemetery.
Mrs. Apple was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late James and Willie Tramel. She had lived in Reidsville most of her life and was a retiree of Chase Bag Company. Her life was spent serving the Lord and Church. She and her best friend Inez Harrelson worked together on many committees and taught Sunday school. She was Director of Missions and her passion was supporting mission activities. She was a great cook and loved to cook for everyone.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Apple and sons, Bobby and Jack Apple; brothers, Anderson and James Tramel and sisters, Mabel Apple and Eva Mae Clark.
Survivors include her son, Curtis Apple and wife, Linda; her daughter, Erlene Johnson and husband, Raymond; sister, Myrtle Wells; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at East Side Baptist Church on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM and other times at the home.
