-- View a Video -- Lillie Mae Wood Eden: Lillie Mae Tate Wood, 83 of 125 Wood Road, went home to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 25th at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce McBride and Rev. Kenneth Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Danview Cemetery. Lillie was born in Rockingham County to the late Ed Yancey Tate and Bessie Chilton Tate. She was of the Baptist Faith and loved children and baby sitting. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sandy Moir Wood; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Wood; and 9 siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Strader and husband, Larry; sons, Ricky Wood and wife, Cathy, Andy Wood and wife, Tina; grandchildren, Glenn Strader and wife, Krista, Stephen Wood and wife, Laura, Heather Cuthbertson and husband, Gary, and Mekensie Wood; 5 great grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Katie Tate. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Friday, October 24th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the residence. The family will like to express there gratitude to the Hospice Staff, Rick Gibson, Pam and Valerie for their excellent care and support.
