Linda Willis Johnson

Linda Willis Johnson, 76, gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Hospice Home in Burlington.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Tuck officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00am.

Linda was born on September 22, 1946, to the late Leldon and Thressa Willis in Rockingham County where she lived for most of her life. She worked for Carolina Apothecary, Eckerd Drug and later at American Tobacco for 17 years. She enjoyed scrapbooking, her faithful companion Marley, and going to the beach. Linda was a loving and devoted mother, sister and friend who never met a stranger. More than anything, she loved her family, friends, and most importantly her Lord. Before her health declined, she was a faithful member of Lawsonville Road Bapitst Church. Linda started her battle with cancer in 1991 and despite having her cancer return multiple times, having a pacemaker put it, and having one lung removed she fought and could proudly say she was a cancer survivor. Linda will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Battle Johnson. Linda is survived by her son, Scotty Lee Johnson; sisters, Laverne Curtis and husband Butch, Donna Marks and husband Dwight; brother, Timothy Willis and wife Lori; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
