Linda Lee Chilton

Reidsville - Linda Lee Chilton, 71, of 8782 US Hwy 158, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Linda was born in Reidsville, North Carolina to the late, Jesse Daniel and Hazel Lee Harrison Chilton. She graduated from college at Appalachian Bible Institute. Always willing to walk the path of the Lord, she became a teacher and taught in Christian schools for over 20 years. Her kind, gentle, soft spoken ways had a tremendous impact on her students. She taught, cared for and prayed for each of her students daily, leaving a legacy for generations to come. She loved Jesus and lived her life to know Him and to make Him known. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Heckert and husband, Charlie. She is survived by her sister, Cindy Bradshaw and husband, Steve; her nephew, Cody Bradshaw and wife, Caitlin; her niece, Chanda Bradshaw all of the home; her other surviving sisters, Geneva Massey and Gayle Apple and husband, Ike all of Reidsville; nieces and nephews, Dana Green and husband, Brent, Chrysta Carroll, Ross Apple and wife, Jonelle, Kendra Reid and husband, Jason, Tommy Massey and wife, Starr, Matthew Heckert and wife, Joanna, Karis Manning and husband, David, Justin Heckert, Stephanie Heckert and 15 great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, November 28 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the Massey home (818 Huffines Mill Road, Reidsville, NC) and the Apple home (10771 US 158, Reidsville, NC). Linda and her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff at Moses Cone Hospital, Annie Penn Hospital and Davita Dialysis. In lieu of flowers, Linda requests that friends donate books to the school of their choice or monetary donations to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
