Ruffin: Linda Lou Martin Kemp, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 19, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Linda was born July 23, 1941 in Rockingham County. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her favorite things in life included her pets, car racing and soap operas. She was a devoted member of Happy Home Christian Church where she participated in the Willing Workers Circle. She was active in the Rockingham County Home Extension Volunteers. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Porter Kemp, Sr., daughter, Cindy Ann Kemp; and brother, Milton Wayne Martin.
Linda is survived by her son, David Porter Kemp, Jr. and wife, Susan of Ruffin; daughters: Terry Lou Kemp Witty and husband, Johnny of Reidsville, Susan Kemp Nelson and husband, David of Eden and honorary son, Donald Lawrence and wife, Dianna of Ruffin; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Ralph Martin and wife, Ann of Eden.
The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday evening, October 21, 2015 from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Other times the family will be at the home, 729 Lillard Rd., Ruffin.
