Ruffin - Linwood Franklin "Dickie" Strader, 78, of 581 Ruffin Road, passed away on, Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Annie Penn Hospital.Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 23, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. The burial will follow in the Happy Home Congregational Christian Church Cemetery. Mr. Strader was born in Rockingham County, NC on October 16, 1933 to and was the son of the late Gordon Lee and Thelma Gauldin Strader. He retired from Equity Meats and was a Farmer. Dickie was a member of the Baptist Temple Church. Dickie enjoyed traveling to the mountains, eating, being with and talking to people and he loved his dog, Bo. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Strader and brother, Carlton "Jimmy" Strader.Mr. Strader is survived by his sons, Donnie L. Strader and wife Debbie of Ruffin and Larry W. Strader and wife, Cindy of Ruffin; daughters, Darlene S. Shelton of Hermitage, TN, and Susan S. Alderson of Reidsville; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Jackie Strader; sisters, Nancy S. Wilson and Colleen S. Chrismon and his caretaker, Terri Carter that he grew to love over the past year.The family will receive friends Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times the family will receive friends at his residence, 581 Ruffin Road, Ruffin
