Ruffin - Lois Cain Cox, 74, of 7538 NC Hwy 700, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Morehead Memorial Hospital after a short illness.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, August 14, 2012 at Happy Home Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Bruce McBride officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Cox was born in Danville, Virginia to the late Cornelius Franklin and Lillian Davis Cain. She worked for Chase Bag for thirteen years and then retired from Union Camp.She was a long time and faithful member of Happy Home Congregational Christian Church serving in numerous capacities over the years. Her most significant contribution was that she served as treasurer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved keeping up with her family and friends daily. Everyone in the community always noticed the beautiful flowers around the house. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, George D. Cox II; and her brother, Edward Cain.Survivors include her husband, George D. Cox, Sr. of 56 years, her children, Karen Cox Wyndham, and husband, Hugh of Brown Summit, Randall Cox and wife, Kim of Summerfield, Greg Cox and wife, Julia of Reidsville; daughter-in-law, Faye Cox of Summerfield; grandchildren, Randall Cox, Jr., Krystal Butler and husband, Cory, Masza Kinney, Shea Cox, Braden Cox, Avery Cox; and great-grandchild, Nathan Kinney and many nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, August 13th from 6:30 - 8:30 PM and at other times the family will be at the home.Memorial contributions may be made to either Happy Home Congregational Christian Church building fund, 6941 NC Hwy 700, Ruffin, NC 27326 or The American Cancer Society, 4A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
