Lois Stone Childress

Reidsville – Lois Stone Childress, 75, of Carolina House, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Annie Penn Hospital. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, September 21, 2012 at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Rev. Bill McKinney and Rev. Joey Robertson officiating. Mrs. Childress was a native of Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Ruben Lee and Edna Denny Stone. She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed attending Christian Fellowship Church. Lois enjoyed shopping, collecting dolls and pocketbooks. She also enjoyed attending all the activities at the assisted living centers. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Childress. She is survived by her brothers, James Stone and wife, Wanda of Siler City, Harvey Stone and wife, Lee Ann of Reidsville; her sisters, Elsie May Denny of Eden, Louise Denny of Burlington; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Pat Apple. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, September 20, 2012 and other times at the home of Harvey and Lee Ann Stone, 251 Regency Drive, Reidsville.
