Lois Dodson Smith

Lois Dodson Smith, 90, of, Reidsville, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, May 12th, 2019. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Penn Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Puryear officiating. The burial will follow the service at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 and other times at the home of her son. Lois was born in Stokes County to the late James Clemmon Dodson and Eulala Carter Dodson. She retired from Sylvania after 24 years of service. She was a dedicated member of Penn Memorial Baptist Church for over 62 years, where she served in many capacities; including as Sunday School Teacher. She loved to garden, make homemade quilts and fried apple pies. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bazzle Smith, along with 4 sisters and 1 brother. Lois is survived by her sons, Darryl Lane Smith (June) and Douglas Keith Smith; grandchildren, Amy Smith Ferrell (Ronnie), Geoffrey Smith (Margaret); great grandchildren, RJ Ferrell and Will Smith; special niece, Regina Newman (Donnie); brothers, Jamie Dodson (Shelvie) and Wade Dodson (Edith) and a large extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Penn Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund at 2029 Freeway Drive, Reidsville, NC 27320
