Lorene Dyson Huskey

Reidsville - Lorene Dyson Huskey, 90, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, a longtime resident of Avante Nursing Home following a long sickness. A memorial service will be held at a later time. Mrs. Huskey was born in Crestview, Florida to the late James Henry and Marrietta Pullum Dyson. She spent most of her earlier years growing up in Florida then moving to Rockingham County, North Carolina. Lorene worked for numerous years for the Chase Bag Company and later retired. Mrs. Huskey attended Penn Memorial Baptist Church until her health prevented her from attending. She was a loving mother and grandmother and great-grandmother that loved crafting, fishing and reading which all brought her great joy. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of many years, James Howard Huskey; infant son, James Wallace Huskey; grandson, Alan Wayne Huskey; brother, James Henry Dyson; step-son, James Wilbur Huskey and wife, Frances Stevens Huskey and a favorite uncle, Dawson Pullam of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Mrs. Huskey is survived by her son, Eddie Gerald Huskey, Sr. and wife, Faye of Reidsville; grandchildren, Tracy Huskey Hargis, Eddie Gerald Huskey, Jr., and Joyce Huskey Stanley and husband, Danny; six great-grandchildren; nephews, Mike and wife, Sherri, James "Jimmy" and wife, Allene and Ray Dyson The family received friends at the home of her son, Eddie, 140 Regency Drive, Reidsville on Friday, March 27, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Avante Nursing Home, 543 Maple Ave, Reidsville, NC, 27320 in honor of her name. The family wishes to thank the staff of Avante for their longtime devotion to Mrs. Huskey.
