Lorene Whicker Wine

Reidsville: Lorene Whicker Wine, 81, of 1162 Mount Carmel Church Road died Friday, February 19, 2010 at her residence. Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday February 22, 2010 at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Stein, the Rev. Andy Lamberth and the Rev. Sam Whicker officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents Leomer and Willie Strader Whicker. Lorene was a devoted, loving and care giving individual especially to her husband, son, grandchildren, sister and brother. She was a life long resident of Rockingham County, a devoted member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church and a member ot the Etta Carter Circle. She was a graduate of Ruffin High School and retired following 34 years service with the U. S. Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service. Lorene is survived by her husband Harry Wine of the home, a son Donne Wine and wife Joyce of Reidsville, granddaughters Jennifer Wine Majerick of Ruffin and Heather Wine of Greensboro, N. C., a sister Virginia French of Reidsville and a brother Kenneth Whicker also of Reidsville. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7:00 til 9:00 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her sister ,Virginia French 1918 Wolf Island Road.
