Reidsville – LouEllen Brooks Key, 98, of 7929 East NC Hwy 150, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 24th, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 26 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Shaw and Rev. Ron Tuck officiating. The burial will follow in Osceola Baptist Church Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Hattie Chrismon Brooks and was born in Guilford County. She was a lifelong and faithful member of Osceola Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard S. Key, Sr.; her son, Roger Glenn Key; six brothers and one sister. She is survived by her sons, Howard “H.S.” Key, Jr. and wife, Sandra, Ricky Key, James Key and Thomas Key all of Browns Summit; daughters, Rebecca Haithcock of Browns Summit, Sandra Apple and husband, Ronnie of Elon and Janice Gilley and husband, Marshall of Browns Summit; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 7 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Huskey of Reidsville and Dorothy Barnhardt of Salisbury, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5 – 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 25 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Alamance Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215-6715 or Osceola Baptist Church, c/o Brenda Brown, 5992 Poley Road, Browns Summit, NC 27214.
