Louise Tuttle Stadler “MeMe” passed peacefully into the hands of our Lord on May 30, 2019 at 7:47 AM at Hospice of Rockingham County in Wentworth, NC. Louise was a homemaker and a life-long resident of the Williamsburg community, Reidsville, NC. She was a member at Lowes United Methodist Church. Louise was born August 27, 1924 and lived on Reid School Road until her marriage. Louise worked for American Tobacco Company in Reidsville, NC following high school and until her marriage and children were born. She enjoyed many artistic pursuits during her life including painting by numbers, decoupage of pictures and wooden purses, painting many statuettes of Santa Clauses, and pencil coloring of flowers in her final years. She also enjoyed many years of playing golf and traveling with her late husband and friends. She also enjoyed following the lives and successes of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Louise also enjoyed her short residency in the assisted living center, Brookdale-Reidsville. She enjoyed talking and sharing her humor and many stories with her friends, family and caregivers. Louise was preceded in death by her husband David Thomas Stadler, Jr., long term manager of Big Apple Food Stores, Food World, and Harris Teeter. Louise was also preceded in death by her parents, George Carl and wife, Isabelle Terrell Tuttle; her brothers, Paul Edward Tuttle (Pat), George Warren Tuttle (Francis). Mrs. Stadler is survived by her children, David Carl Stadler (Phyllis) of Paducah, KY, Gary Lindsey Stadler (Stephanie) of Chapel Hill, NC; her grandchildren, Lauren Stadler Lambrix (Joe), David Thomas Stadler, III (Beth); her great grandchildren, David Thomas Stadler, IV and Ava Lynn Stadler. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain John Connor officiating and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Lowes Methodist Church Cemetery beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, NC or Hospice of Rockingham County.
