Lucille Hopkins Vernon

Reidsville - Lucille Hopkins Vernon, 83, of 117 Longbow Road, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Rockingham County Hospice Home.Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Lowell Hopkins and Thomas Pegram officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasantville Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Vernon was born in Rockingham County to the late Charlie and Cleo Walker Hopkins and was a former employee of The Sweet Shop. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Vernon; one brother and one sister.Survivors include her son, Wayne Vernon; grandson, Phillip Vernon and wife, Melissa; two great grandchildren; brother, Clarence Hopkins and sister, Ola Mae Shepard.The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday evening at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281 Wentworth, North Carolina 27375.
