Lucy C. Witty

Reidsville – Mrs. Lucy Combs Witty, 97, of Reidsville passed away Monday, April 22, 2013. Mrs. Witty was born April 15, 1916 in Rockingham County to the late Robert and Lelia Ford Combs. She was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charlie M. Witty; brother, James Combs; sisters, Junie Price and Carrie Scott. Survivors include her children, Franklin Witty and wife Carolyn; John Witty and wife Kaye; Leroy Witty, Helen Pickrell and Doris Farmer; grandchildren, Frankie “Pete” Witty, Melinda Moore, Angela Childress, Greg Farmer, Gary Lee Farmer, Keith Witty, Tammy Lee and Deloris Wilson; five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in Wilkerson Funeral Home. Rev. Marvin Bowman and Rev. Burle McMillian will officiate. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from six until eight o’clock in Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times in the home of Doris Farmer, 1004 Poplar Street, Reidsville.
