Reidsville: Mabel Rickman Haynes, 88, of the Penn Nursing Center, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 23 at the nursing home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 26 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Hester officiating. The burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Haynes was born in Stuart, VA to the late Samuel and Vera Williams Rickman. She was a retired seamstress from Creighton Shirt Makers with over 20 years of service. She was a longtime member of Community Baptist church. She exemplified warmth and kindness to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Clyde Haynes.
Mrs. Haynes is survived by her children, Mike Haynes of Reidsville, Judy Haynes Webb and husband, Woody of Summerfield, Kathy Haynes Newbold of Greensboro and Sherry Sparks and husband, Tommy of Reidsville; her grandchildren, Tommy Webb and wife, Cara, Timothy Webb, Jay Newbold, Mikey Haynes and wife, Melody, Katharine Sparks Bunnell, and husband, Travis and Hillary Sparks; her great grandchildren, Evan Webb, T.J. Webb and Mason Haynes; her sisters, Charlene Quesinberry of Reidsville and Burnelle Haynes of Martinsville and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Sherry and Tommy Sparks (302 Pindale Drive).
