Margaret Trantham Presley

Reidsville: Margaret Trantham Presley, 84, of 142 Catawba Drive, died Friday, October 31, 2008 at Rockingham County Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 3, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Carter and Jeff Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Mrs. Presley was born in Buncombe County to the late Curtis and Thelma Reed Trantham and was a retiree of Macfield. She was of the Baptist faith and very involved with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Elaine Meeks; three brothers and one sister. Survivors include her son, David “Chub” Presley and wife, Joyce of Rutherfordton; daughter, Carolyn Larson of Reidsville; grandchildren, Eddie Meeks, Timmy Meeks, Dewayne Presley, Angie Wood, Daryl Duggins, Brandie Wood, Kevin Duggins; sixteen great grandchildren; son-in-law, Edwin Meeks of Reidsville; brother, Kenneth Trantham and wife, Margaret of Rutherfordton, sister, Carolyn Bowen and husband, Dick of Rutherfordton; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, November 2nd from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
