Margaret Ruth Knighten, 94, of Reidsville went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Piney Grove Nursing and Rehab.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Reidlawn Cemetery with Pastor. James Woods officiating the service.
Ruth was born in Rockingham County to the late John William Wilson and Annie Perkins Wilson. She retired from Macfield after many years of service. She was a lifetime member of Penn Memorial Church from the age of 6 until she was no longer able to attend because of her health. She loved to dance and cook. She was a devoted mother and wife. Most of all she loved her Lord and Savior as well as her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, James Howard Knighten; Son, William S. Knighten and daughter, Wanda Sue Knighten.
She is survived by her son, James Howard Knighten Jr. (Doris); daughter, Margaret Vilma Woods (Donnie); grandchildren, Donnie James Woods and Frank Kelly Woods; great grandchildren, Morgan Sutton, Mallory Woods, Sydney Woods, Averie Woods and Ashlyn Woods; great great grandchildren, Eli Blackwell, Kensleigh Meeks and Raylan Gardner as well as a large and loving extended family.
