Reidsville - Marianne Duemlein Foster, 57, of 1349 Tate Road, died on Tuesday, March 11, 2009 at her residence. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Wilkerson Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Foster was born in Munich, Germany to Hedwig Duemlein and the late Dr. Ludwig Duemlein. She was a loyal employee to Reidsville Veterinary Hospital, she loved her job and was employed as Office Manager and Chief Financial Officer for 23 years. She gave her time and energy to the animals that were her passion and to their owners. Gardening, cooking, sewing and knitting were all things she loved. She worked tirelessly on the family farm where she raised goats, cows, chickens and a variety of dogs, cats and other animals who happened to find their way into her life. Above all else, she was a devoted, loving wife and mother. Prior to working with Reidsville Veterinary Hospital, she worked with Dr. Jack Hill, DVM, as his surgical vet technician at the Ambassador Animal Hospital and the Hope Mills Animal Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Allen Foster of the home; sons, Allen Foster, Keith Foster and wife, Cheryl, James Foster and wife, Holly and Stephen Foster and wife, Natalie; daughter, Kelley Foster; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; mother, Hedwig Duemlein; brother, Peter Duemlein and wife, Rose; three special friends, Dr. Jack Hill, DVM and wife, Helen of Cumberland County, thanks for the opportunities he gave her, Dr. Joe Kinnarney, DVM, for his loyal support and friendship throughout the years and Bobby Carpenter of Fayetteville, NC for always being there when he was needed.
