Marion Wingfield French

Reidsville: Marion Wingfield French, of 167 French Road, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Friday, October 14, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 17, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Lambert officiating. The interment will follow at Mt Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. French was born in Rockingham County to the late Banner C. and Rosebud Lipford Wingfield. She will be deeply missed by her family, church and community. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church where she served as the financial secretary for many years. She was employed with Smothers Warehouse. Mrs. French loved her family and especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her joy and fulfillment came through selflessly serving her neighbors and friends. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Claude Bryant French and her brother, Benjamin Jett Wingfield. She is survived by her children, Joan French Carlson and husband, Larry of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Claude Auman French and wife, Pam of Reidsville, Joy French Satterfield and husband, Jack of Reidsville and Jewell French Westmoreland and husband, Mickey of Eden; grandchildren, Justin French and wife, Crystal, Hayley Knowles and husband, Eric, Daniel Carlson and wife, Dawn, French Carlson Gerke and husband, Mike and Cody Westmoreland and wife, Cori; step grandchildren, Jackie Carrico, Bonnie Satterfield, Beverly Brown, Braxton Westmoreland and Jessica Hollinghead; great grandchildren, Hannah and Madison French and Kylah, Emma Grace, Jonah and Isaiah Knowles and Lynnley Carlson; sister-in-law, Virginia Ann French; and a large extended family. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all of the caregivers for their love and support. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
