Mary Ann Woodall Paschal Hamlett, 83, went home to be with the Lord and surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, in Claremont NC.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Pleasant View Assembly of God, in Reidsville, burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. There will not be a formal visitation.
Born in Rockingham County on April 6, 1940, to the late Joe E. Woodall and Nellie Joyce Woodall. Mary was a graduate of Ruffin High School, class of 1958.
She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church in Reidsville, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, treasurer, sang in the choir and in a trio. Later she was a member of Pleasant View Assembly of God Church in Reidsville where she served as a Sunday school teacher, bookkeeper, sang in the choir and in a trio. For the last 20 years, she was a member Light House Ministries in Claremont, NC where she served as a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, pianist and soloist. She served as a Board member and she evangelized with her husband, Rev. Billy Hamlett, until retirement. Together, they spread the word of God, singing and preaching in the ministry. She retired from Burlington Industries after working there for over three decades. Mary and Billy went to Florida every year during the winter months where they enjoyed the warm weather and continued their ministry.
Mary Ann was a devoted family woman who loved her children, but especially adored her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 45 years, HK Paschal and her brothers, Joe Woodall and Otis Woodall.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Rev. Jessie “Billy” Hamlett; children, Judy Pegram (Ritchie), Tina Collins (Kenneth “Peanut”), Charlene Thomas (Skeeter), Darlene Pinnix, Mack Hamlett (Angela), Deborah Lethcoe, Jesse Hamlett (Teresa), Cheryl Wilson, Dee Mercer (Wayne); sisters, Juanita Pryor and Dolly Miller (Tom), brother, John Woodall (Dorothy); 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Light House Ministries , PO Box 1134 Claremont NC.
