Mary Martin Cannon Hanks

Reidsville, NC - Mary Martin Cannon Hanks, 77, of 806 Montgomery Street, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 30th at Reidsville Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mary was born in Rockingham County to the late Henry and Emma Martin. She was a faithful member of Reidsville Baptist Church for over 30 years where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and many other activities. She was a retiree of Unifi and preceded in death by her husbands, John Henry Cannon Sr.and Raleigh Hanks, Jr.; son, Russell Dean Cannon; sisters, Bertha M. Cannon, Dorothy Ingle. She is survived by her children, John Cannon, Jr and wife, Rhonda; Nancy Marie Lee and husband, Wayne, Ricky Allen Cannon and fiancé, Kathy, Iona Lea Carter and husband, Tim, Raleigh Hanks, III and friend, Brooke, Jerry Hanks and wife, Lisa, Sandy Penn and husband, Tommy; grandchildren, John, Josh, Lindsey, Wayne, Jr., Chris, Ricky, Jr., Cheryl, Lauren, Buddy, Jennifer, Shannon, T.J., Julie, Crystal, Jerry, Jr., and Tommy, Jr.; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Irene Rector, Lula Cannon and Shelby Williams; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, March 29th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the residence.
