Mary Brooks Huskey

Reidsville: Mrs. Mary Brooks Huskey, 93, of Reidsville, passed away on Friday, May 12th, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 15th, 2017 at two o’clock at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Rev. Dale Brooks and Rev. Randall Shaw will officiate. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Mrs. Huskey was born on December 20th, 1923 in Guilford County to the late Thomas Jefferson Brooks and Hattie Chrismon Brooks. She retired from The American Tobacco Company and was a member of Osceola Baptist Church in Brown Summit. Mrs. Huskey enjoyed flower gardening as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Gatha Huskey; her brothers, William, Frank, Philip, Herbert, Clarence and Reid Brooks; her sisters, Lou Ellen Key and Eva Holt. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Barnhardt of Salisbury; two sisters-in-law, Bessie Brooks of Brown Summit, Ilene McKinney of Greensboro; numerous nieces and nephews; two special friends and neighbors, Inez Arthur and Kathy Herdon. The family would like to express their appreciation to her caregivers, Willie Mae Slade, Margie Pinnix, Peggy Warner, Carolyn Barnett and the late, Alma Cross. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Osceola Baptist Church, 5992 Poley Road, Brown Summit, North Carolina 27214 or to the charity of the donor’s choosing.
