Mary Louise Huskey Smith

Eden, NC – Mary Louise Huskey Smith, 85, of the Morehead Nursing Center, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Morehead Hospital. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church and the burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Isaac Harper officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at Mike’s home (315 Laurell Drive in Eden). The family will also receive friends at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church in Hinton, VA one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Smith was born in Rockingham County to the late William Henry and Ada Strader Huskey. She served as a manager and retired from the Mick or Mack Deli in Harrisburg, VA. She was a member of the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church and lived in the Rawley Springs community for 40 years. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Carl Smith; her son, Kenneth Ray Dyson; her granddaughter, Jennifer Leigh Dyson; her sisters, Elizabeth M. Huskey and Dorothy H. Owen; and her brother, William Benton Huskey. Survivors include her sons, Jim Dyson and wife, Aileen and Mike Dyson and wife, Sherry; grandchildren, Brett Dyson, Jeffrey Dyson, Summer Dyson, Jimmy Buckner Dyson, Michelle Kenny and Jill Collier; brother, Donnie Huskey and wife, Lynn; sisters, Lorene Huskey Purnell and Alice Huskey Bray and several special nieces and nephews.
