Reidsville, NC: Mary (Maggie) P. Johnson – Equils, 71 died February 9, 2010 at home surrounded by family.Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 12, 2010 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Bland Leebrick officiating. The interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery. Mary was a resident of Rockingham County, growing up on the Narrow Gauge Road. She was employed by Burlington Industries, Golden Belt and was owner of The Trophy Shop of Reidsville. Mary helped her husband, Hugh Joe Johnson raise tobacco on the Narrow Gauge Road for twenty five years.Mary (Maggie) was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Joe Johnson, her mother, Minnie H. Perkins and father Elijah Perkins, brothers, Fred D. Perkins and A.B. Perkins, James Ronald Perkins; sisters, Aretta Perkins, Louise Simpson, Elizabeth Trigg, Mildred Dickerson, N.C. and Sue Watlington Alexandria.She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Roy Equils, sons Colt Johnson and wife Lisa of Fremont, MI, Clay Johnson and wife Karen of Wentworth, N.C, daughters Amy Barringer and husband Steve of Reidsville and Anita Johnson of Wentworth, N.C. Grandchildren; Aaron Kensey, Hugh David-Neal Williams, Crystal Wilson, Dana Wilson, Cody Johnson, Caleb Johnson and wife, Tabbi, Casey Johnson and Colby Johnson. Great grandchildren; Sierra Kensey, Dillon Kensey, Kaleb Cash , Patsy Shough, Alexus Dunlap and Joseph Haley. Special “sisters in life” Margie Manley and Joyce Travis of Reidsville. Life long friends Otis and Mildred Woodall of Reidsville.The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 PM Thursday, February 11 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.The family would like to express a special thanks to all the Hospice individuals who provided care for Mary during her illness.In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
