Mary Ruth Somers Lee

Eden: Mary Ruth Somers Lee, 79, of 1191 Hampton Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Annie Penn Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Cleo Robertson officiating. Mrs. Lee was a native of Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late, Jesse and Emma Stanley Somers. She was a homemaker and faithfully attended Dan River Primitive Baptist Church. She was a wonderful cook and always made her house a home. Her family was her main priority always showing kindness and generosity to everyone. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse E. Lee; her brother, William Edgar “Pete” Somers and sister, Lillie Mae Hiatt. Mrs. Lee is survived by her daughters, Mary Lee Hawkins and Amy Lee Simpson of Reidsville and Robin Lee Paine and husband, Jon of Las Vegas, NV; son, Steve Lee of Eden; grandchildren, Samantha Gorrell and husband, Chris, Eric Paine and wife, Alicia, Whitney Christopher Hawkins and wife, Tiffany, Jessica Simpson and Dustin Paschal, and Jacob Simpson; great grandchildren, Skylar Gorrell, Tanner Gorrell, Kaleb Byrd, Mackenzie Hawkins and Kolton Paschal. The family will receive friends Friday, August 7, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at her home.
