Mary Bowman Mabe

Reidsville – Mary Bowman Mabe, 88, died Friday, May 16, 2008, at Avante at Reidsville. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2008, at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Albert officiating.   Interment will follow in Goodwill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Mabe was born in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late Silas and Virginia Molly Bowman. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her first husband, James Terrell Shelton and her second husband, Walter Mabe.     Survivors include her son, Clifton Shelton; daughter, Virginia Hanks, both of Danville, VA; grandchildren, Marie Lowery and husband, Richard of Summerfield, Brenda Strickland and husband, David of Greensboro, Mary Foust and husband, Ronald of Reidsville, Bobby Nelson, Jr. of Greensboro; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
