Mary Elizabeth Wilson Moore, 86, went to be with the Lord on January 18,2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Faith Baptist Church with Lonnie Sorrell officiating. Burial will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service starting at 1:00PM and other times at the home of her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Earles.
Mary “Nannie” was born in Caswell County to the late Jody and Della Wilson but lived most of her life in Rockingham County. Mary was a farmer’s wife and loving homemaker for her husband and children. She was a longtime member of Faith Baptist Church where she served faithfully for over 50 years. She loved sharing Jesus with those she met and enjoyed writing, playing and singing songs about her savior.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Earl Moore; daughter, Dale Moore McDaniel; son-in-law, Wright Smothers; great-grandson, Caleb Paynter and several siblings.
Mary is survived by her children, Elizabeth Ann Earles, Earlene Paynter and husband Marvin, Wayne Moore and wife Sharon, Michael Moore and wife Janet, Joe Bill Moore and wife Sandra, Brenda Smothers, Alvin Moore and wife Carol, Shirley French and husband Tim, Stella Stanley; son-in-law Dwayne McDaniel; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren in addition to a large extended family.
