Maude Lenora Brame Merritt

Reidsville – Mrs. Maude Lenora Brame Merritt, 97, formerly of Wentworth passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Jacobs Creek Nursing and Rehabilitaion Center. Mrs. Merritt was born on October 28, 1915 in Rockingham County to the late James W. and Essie Madison Brame. She was retired from Brookside Industries and a member of Howards Chapel Congregational Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Lenious Merritt; three brothers, Len Brame, Herbert Brame and Fulton Brame. Survivors include one son, Larry Merritt and wife, Jessica of Reidsville; two daughters, Bonnie Jackson and husband, Joel of Penhook, VA; Carlene Baity and husband Tom of High Point; five grandchildren, Keith Gammon, Kim Gammon, Wade Merritt, Melanie Corum and Thomas Carlton “T. C.” Baity; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Brame of Reidsville. A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 2 PM in Howards Chapel Congregational Christian Church Cemetery. Rev. Milton Kennon will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville.
