Maurine Pryor Smith

Maurine Pryor Smith, 89, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Maurine was born in Rockingham County to the late Raymond and Edna Pruitt Pryor. She was a retiree of Creighton and a member of Community Baptist Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Waldo Daniel Smith, Sr. and sister, Leatrice Brown. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who delighted in taking care of her family. Those dear to Maurine’s heart include her son, Waldo Daniel Smith, Jr. and wife, Janet; daughter, Dawn Smith Patteson and husband, Charles; grandchildren, Dana Satterfield, Waldo Daniel Smith III and wife, Alison, Brandy Mathis and husband, Roger, Raven Allen and Kasey Harbour and husband, Michael; great grandchildren, Kayla Satterfield, Brandon and Ebon Mathis, Lachlan Allen, Daegan Smith, Colton Vaughn and three great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Dawn and Charles, 1012 Guerrant Springs Road, Long View Farm.
